Here's one of my favs so far in the new catalog. You can order starting May 1 from the new catty. This is a card I'll be submitting for my team swap. I have to make 4 different cards and a 9x9 layout using the new products from the new catty. Here's my first card.

Supplies

colors
: hollyhock, barn red, olive, autumn terracotta, buttercup, colonial white
paper: NEW boom di ada paper pack, olive, buttercup, barn red,Hollyhock, colonial white CS
accessories: New designer ric rac, white daisy just blooms paper flowers, liquid glass, prisma glitter, scallop scissors, coluzzle circles
Stamps: NEW Cottage floral, angel whispers

I embossed the olive green with my stylus and paper trimmer

The flower centers are tiny circles cut out with a hole punch from the patterned paper, covered with liquid glass and prisma glitter

On the buttercup circle I curved my stamps on the block to make it border the circle, gotta love the benefits of clear acrylic stamps!!!

Random Act of Kindess - RAK

Ok, so I am so touched. Vicki, one of my SBS 16 sisters sent me a card with a bunch of stamped images.

This is what they call a RAK ( random act of kindness) This is my first experience being the recipient of a RAK and I am just tickled pink. You must go visit her blog, she is listed on my sidebar under SBS 16 or just click on her name above. She made the cutest card and sent this image that I really thought was too cute! Her card is adorable. She half cut a circle through the card base, folded it over and adhered it with a pop dot, wrapped ribbon around it, tied a bow and viola, an ingenious card. The stamped image shows through the half circle window and is just fabulous looking!

Thank you Vicki for blessing me and scattering some sunshine!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to make some cards.

Just blooms Flowers!!!!!!!

Here's a sample board of just a few of the things you can do with CTMH JUST BLOOMS. The flowers going across the bottom are painted with create-a-shade paint mixed with re-inker.

All items can be found on
melaniecarroll.myctmh.com

CLICK ON IMAGE TO ENLARGE TO SEE ALL FLOWERS UP CLOSE!!!

Are you having a hard time finding the perfect color flower for your project? Well, here is a solution. Purchase plain white flowers and alter them with re-inker, paint, chalks, stamps etc. CTMH has a product called create-a-shade paint. It is AWESOME!!! It is an iridescent paint that is really creamy and smooth that dries clear. It can be turned into any color by adding a drop of re-inker. You can adjust the shades by adding more or less re-inker.

Just blooms come in white and also in a variety of other colors. Our newest flowers are called BIG PINKS and measure up to 5 1/2 inches. They provide a nice WOW factor on your pages and cards. These too can be altered, so the sky's the limit!!

Our Trip to CA!!!

Well, we had a fun filled weekend and definitely some praise reports. We headed out to CA on Fri for my hubby's competition. He entered the Orange County Muscle Classic. This had been a long awaited event. One year ago he was training for this competition and 7 weeks before the event he had an accident and severed his bicep tendon. He had to have surgery which was quite painful and lost the use of that arm for 2 months. He was not able to work that arm hard for 6 months. He was very limited being that it was his right arm. During his down time he reflected on what the Lord would have for him. This was a very introspective time and a humbling time.

Discouraged by the looks of things and the comments that were coming at him, my hunny after 6 months started working out to rebuild that arm. Through pain, hard work, discipline and THE LORD, he started getting back in shape. He felt grateful for a full recovery and was praising the Lord.

So now, the Lord gets the glory, for he allowed for a complete recovery and to top it all off, He allowed Vic to enjoy taking 5th place in his class in the competition."All things are possible through Christ who strengthens me" Phil 4:13

Thank you to John and Julie for coming out to support Vic!!!! That meant the world to him. We love you!!!!!This is what the kids do while mommy is purse shopping.

Devotion for the day!

Here is one of the devotions from the 3 that are listed on the calvary website. This one was especially powerful to me and I pray it will bless your day.

April 21

David also rose afterward, and went out of the cave, and cried after Saul, saying, My lord the king. And when Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed himself.

1 Samuel 24:8

David’s insights into the Lord, his dependence upon the Lord, his passion for the Lord are revealed in the Psalms he wrote during the time he was fleeing from Saul because the man who had nothing but anger toward him was God’s instrument to make him into the man he desired to be.

The same is true with us. “Lord, change me,” I pray. “I’m tired of the smallness of my soul, the hardness of my heart. Make me different than I am.”

“Okay,” the Lord says. “I’ll send you an anointed instrument to help accomplish this change.”

“Good!” I say, thinking it will be an anointed teacher, a Christian book, a close friend.

But He sends a Saul or two throwing spears at me.

Who has the Lord allowed to be in your life who throws spears at you, who brings grief to you? That person is the anointed instrument of God to work in you the love, kindness, and tenderness you long for. There’s no other way for the Lord to change you but to send a Saul or two your way. The question is, what will you do? Will you cut the fringe?

I doubt that the blind man in John 9 would have washed in the pool of Siloam - or literally “sent one” - had there not been mud in his eyes. Why does God allow people we think are mud to get in our face? The reason is to cause us to go to the true Sent One and wash again. When everything is going well, I have a tendency to cruise on automatic pilot. But when there’s mud thrown at me, I make my way to the Lord in desperation. I pour out my heart to the Lord and get into the water of the Word once again.

David said to Saul, “The Lord will judge between you and me. The Lord will work things out. The Lord will deal with you eventually. But I’m not to touch you because you are God’s anointed instrument in my life.”

What about that person who breaks your heart? Are you going to take them down a peg or two - or, like David, will you wisely choose not to touch the Lord’s anointed?

If you would like to view the devotions, go to ccgreenvalley.org and on the left hand side click on resources, then devotions. There are 3 different devotions available daily and all of them are such a blessing.

God bless your day!
Smiles,
Melanie
