What are you doing with your time?????

This morning I received a call telling me that my friend's son was killed in a car accident last night. It was such a shocking call, never one you can be prepared for. She is a believer and her son knew the Lord, he just struggled to walk with Him. After taking it all in, I gave my friend a call and to my surprise she was doing amazingly well. She was resting in God's grace and mercy. She believed that God spared her son a life of agony here on earth by taking him home. This was such a testimony because truly to be separated from the body is to be present with the Lord, if you are a believer(2 Cor 5:6-8) and right now I believe he is healed of all his infirmities and resting with our awesome, loving and merciful Creator!

She shared how God had been preparing them. In the last 4 days they had been able to spend a lot of time with their son, praise the Lord! Which leads me to my next thought.... What are you doing with your time??? Are you spending it with the people that you love? Have you told your loved ones how much you care for them? Have you shown them how much you love them? Don't take a moment for granted because we are not promised another one.

Is God calling you to reach out to someone or share the gospel with them? What are you doing with your time? Where do you stand with the Lord? Do you know for sure where you are going when your time here on earth is over?

In honor of my friend and her son here are the lyrics to I'LL FLY AWAY and to all of those who have lost a loved one may you find comfort in these words.

Some glad morning when this life is over
I'll fly away
To that home on God's celestial shore
I'll fly away

I'll fly away oh glory
I'll fly away (in the morning)
When I die hallelujah by and by
I'll fly away

When the shadows of this life have gone
I'll fly away
Like a bird from these prison walls I'll fly
I'll fly away

Oh how glad and happy when we meet
I'll fly away
No more cold iron shackles on my feet
I'll fly away

Just a few more weary days and then
I'll fly away
To a land where joys will never end
I'll fly away

Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds

May the Lord of peace rain down upon this family and use the life of their son as a testimony to others who are experiencing the same kinds of trials that he did. May many be turned from their destructive path and receive hope and revival.
